A Study on the Effect of Expressway Improvement and Construction on Structure of Region and Settlement of Inhabitant

The purpose of this study is to clarify the way of regional improvement made effective use of expressway in local area. In this study， effects for construction of expressway are grasped by using statistical analysis and social research by a questionnaire. Then it is focused the structure of region and settlement of inhabitant. The case study area is 380 local governments in CYUBU area. The results are as follows. Firstly， it is clear that regional structure is different in kind of the expressway line and installed condition of an interchange. Secondly， it is clear that there are difference between an actual effect and an expected effect for installed condition of an interchange. In the future， it is clear that local government should be promoted exchange between the other government for effect of settlement.
