Several levels from Arcy-sur-Cure caves have given bear cave remains of the Middle Paleolithic as well as of the Upper Paleolithic. From a morphometric analysis of deciduous and permanent teeth and from a few long bones which could be mesured, a comparison is made with European data of the late upper Pleistocene. Despite a small variability, a light increasing of the measurements of the molars from Spain to the Ural of the North are observed. In most cases, bears have hibernated in the caves of Arcy in which they died naturally but in Chatelperronian levels man went really in action.
