An artificial kidney apparatus, called "Blood Cl e a ner" in which electrodialysis technique is adopted was invented by the author. Principally its theoretical parts are treated and derived several conclusions (1) Speed of removal of a substance by this apparatus depends only on applied voltage, and its control and regulation are very easy. (2) Amount of solution of electrolytes is needed much less than others and the value is approximately 300 ml per hour under 1 ampere of current. (3) Temperature elevation can be suppressed in safety region, when design of the blood chamber is suitable and the speed of blood stream is moderate. (4) It may be possible that it will be completed as a midget artificial kidney, owing to its strong dialysability and consequently physical charage of patients will be remarkable reduced.
