The purpose of this research is to know the form of the existence of a performance art udgroup. This research is a descriptive qualitative study type, because it is intended to find udout the social actions of a particular group of Sinar Betawi performing arts community an udadaptation, goal achievement, integration, and latency. Qualitative descriptive refers to udidentification of characteristic (trait that distinguishes) is a group of people, objects or udevents, and involves the process of conceptualization, as well as generate the establishment udof classification schemes. In this study, researchers used the theory of structural udfunctionalism belonging to Talcott Parsons. Parsons believes that there are four functional udimperatives for the system to survive. Here a system (Sinar Betawi) has to meet four main udfunctions of Parsons called AGIL (adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latency) if uddon‟t to suffer extinction.udThe location of this research is in the workshop of the Sinar Betawi located at Taman udMini Indonesia Indah Groups and workshops such as the rays were indeed many there is a udsuburb of Jakarta. Data collection techniques in the study using observation and udparticipation in interviews, then the sampling technique in this study using a Purposive udSampling. In this study researchers took 15 people which is considered to represent udinformation and to know in depth. The informant is made up of a group of players in the udSinar Betawi and the citizens in the neighborhood over the Sinar Betawi.udResults of this study indicate that the Sinar Betawi able to implement a system as the udfour functions of AGIL (adaptation, goal achievement, integration, and latency) as a form udof sustaining traditional arts. (1) Adaptation, Sinar Betawi community is able to adapt to udthe social circumstances in which they are located. With strategy and adjustments yourself udwith social conditions in Jakarta today, the rays Were able to demonstrate their existence in udcultural preservation; (2) Goal Attainment, Sinar Betawi here have targets and goals to be udachieved, ranging from preserving Betawi culture into the community, as well as udregenerate young kids in playing traditional arts; (3) Integration, where Sinar Betawi udcapable of coordinating the important parts in those communities, ranging from arts udgroups, galleries, and also players; (4) Latency, where Sinar Betawi was able to maintain udthe motivation and spirit of individuals within a community to preserve Betawi culture.
