摘要

The increasing need of concrete as construction material makes natural resourcesudkeep declining. It motivates the constructional industries to create more innovationsudin concrete’s production. The use of tin tailing sand and iron sand is one of solutionudto answer the issue. The objective of this research is to know the optimum content ofudtin tailing sand and iron sand in reducing the porosity and the permeability ofudconcrete. The smaller the size of sand’s granule is expected can fill the pores ofudconcrete so it can produce low porosity and permeability value.udududThis research used experiments method in laboratory. The samples of porosity andudpermeability used in this research were 33 for each. The contents of tin tailing sandudand iron sand were 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. Each variant consisted ofud3 samples. The sample of porosity was a cube with dimension of 5x5x5 cm3, whereasudthe sample of permeability was a concrete cylinder with 7,5 cm in diameter and 15udcm in height. Porosity and permeability of concrete was tested in 28 days.udududThe result of this research shows that tin tailing sand with content of 40% canuddecrease porosity 19,63% from porosity of normal concrete and decrease ofudpermeability 24,6% from permeability of normal concrete. The optimum content ofudtin tailing sand for porosity is 44,8% dan for permeability is 42.2%. Whereas the useudof 80% iron sand shows decrease of porosity 24,94% from porosity of normaludconcrete and decrease of permeability 23,92% from permeability of normal concrete.udThe optimum iron sand for porosity is 87,2% and for permeability is 69%.
