WIC Breastfeeding Report: The Relationship of WIC Program Participation to theInitiation and Duration of Breastfeeding

In contrast to previous research, this study explicitly corrects for unmeasureddifferences between WIC participants and income-eligible nonparticipants (usually referred to as selection bias), in addition to controlling for other socioeconomic and demographic factors that are frequently found to be associated with breastfeeding, including mothers' and fathers' ages, education, race and family income.
