摘要

In 1990 Complete Archaeological Service Associates, under contract to the Bureau of Reclamation, conducted archaeological excavations at eight prehistoric sites on Ute Mountain Ute tribal lands in southwestern Colorado. These sites were excavated as part of the mitigation effort for Reach n of the Towaoc Canal Project, a major construction feature of the Dolores Project. These excavations recovered data from a series of site types and occupations dating to all major Anasazi time periods. This report presents descriptions and interpretations of the excavated sites, results of analyses of artifactual and biocultural remains and interpretations of cultural affiliation, mobility, adaptive subsistence strategies, and possible cannibalistic behavior on the fringes of the Mesa Verde Region.
