摘要

The aim of this study is to describe the impact behavior of ARALL laminates underrealistic impact loading, and to compare the impact behavior of this material with other aerospace materials, like composites and conventional aluminum alloys. The impact velocity in this study is limited to low velocities (max. 15 m/s) and the specimens are thin (max. 2 mm). The impact related properties of aircraft structural materials have two different aspects: (1) the behavior of the material during impact (caused by runway debris, falling tools during maintenance, hailstones, etc.), the extent and types of damage created during impact loading; (2) the residual (mechanical) properties of the materials after impact. Both aspects will be treated in this study.
