The report provides findings from the 1993 'Annual Survey of R&D Expenditures'(Kagakugijutsu Kenkyuu Chosa), a survey conducted every year as of April 1 to collect basic statistical information on funds expended for research and development (R&D) during the preceding fiscal year by companies, universities and other organizations in Japan.
