Superfund at Work: Hazardous Waste Cleanup Efforts Nationwide, Winter 1994(Bailey Waste Disposal Site Profile, Texas)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Texas Natural ResourceConservation Commission (TNRCC), and 10 private companies have succeeded in suspending serious environmental damage at the Bailey Waste Disposal Site. Through EPA's Superfund program, the cleanup will prevent the spread of hazardous petroleum compounds and heavy metals into valuable wetlands leading to the Gulf of Mexico.
