Micro- and Small-Scale Enterprises in Kenya: Results of the 1993 NationalBaseline Survey

The report presents the results of a 1993 Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) surveydesigned to estimate the size, composition, and employment of structure of all enterprises with up to 100 workers, to identify constraints faced by these businesses, and to identify areas with a history of growth and expansion. Findings show the MSE sector to be much larger than expected, consisting of more than 900,000 enterprises, based primarily in rural areas, with micro-enterprises -
