The Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) is a 5-6 1/2 year multicenterrandomized controlled clinical study of 3 asthma treatment groups in children ages 5-12. The HPA Axis study is an ancillary study to CAMP examining the effects of long-term asthma therapy on HPA Axis function. The HPA Axis protocol provides background and rationale for the evaluation of HPA axis function during long-term asthma therapy. The protocol also details study methods and procedures and addresses data collection and analysis issues.
