Co-ordinated Arrangements for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of GeneticResources, Material and Technology Transfer, and Benefit Sharing

摘要

The objectives of the African Round Table are to identify key issues and developoptions in terms of access to genetic resources and equity. More specifically, issues considered were as follows: terms of access to genetic resources and ways and means to ensure fair and equitable sharing of benefits of the use of genetic resources from developing countries; mechanisms for national and regional capacity building in managing biodiversity resources; technology cooperation and transfer of technology to strengthen added value activities to the genetic resources of developing countries; and the scope for multilateral arrangements and the possibility for co-operative agreements.
