The report consists of sixteen papers in four sessions entitled 'Ships for the21st Century,' 'Acquisition Reform.' 'Designing for the Future,' and 'Management and Logistics.' The paper topics cover oceanographic research ships, surface combatants, amphibious assault ships, cooperative engagement, oversite and review, integrated product teams, integrated product process development, system safety, commercialization, damage control, human engineering, ship habitability, electromagnetic engineering, management information systems, test end evaluation, occupational health, and regionalization. This is truly a program spanning the interests of the ASE membership as well as the mission of the Command.
