The objectives of this project were to: identify available automated highway-railroad grade crossing enforcement systems, facilitate various steps of the demonstration project for TxDOT, identify operational and geometric relationships that may influence violations at gated highway-railroad grade crossings, and determine the effects of sending educational letters to motorists recorded as violating the gate arms.
