Priorities for Arts Education Research

The Goals 2000 Arts Education Partnership is a coalition of education, arts,business and funding organizations concerned with the role of the arts in helping all students achieve high levels of academic, personal, social and career success; and in improving the quality and performance of American schools. Partnership organizations authorized the formation of a Task Force on Research in May 1996. They asked the Task Force to clarify the need for research on arts education and to define priority areas that could stimulate public and private funding to independent researchers conducting valid studies in these areas.
