Used apparel is currently the sixth largest export to Sub-saharan African fromthe United States. The trade has grown from $67 million in 1993 to over $92 million in 1996, an increase of almost 38 percent. Please note that the used clothing business is extremely fluid, and importers are continuously entering and leaving the market.
