The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) , an independent health and211u001esafety regulatory agency, is responsible for protecting the American public from 211u001eunreasonable risks of injury and death from about 15,000 types of consumer 211u001eproducts. CPSC's mission is simple and non-partisan: saving lives and keeping 211u001efamilies safe. Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for 211u001eAmericans under the age of 35 and are the fifth leading cause of death in the 211u001enation.
