Design of an All-Optical Self-Healing Ring Network and Its Interconnection to aCore Transport Network

A self-healing local-ring network and a flexible all-optical interconnection nodeto connect the ring to a core transport network have been designed, using wavelength converters and integrated InP-based wavelength add/drop multiplexers.
