Thermodynamic Description of Liquid, bcc and fcc Phases of Ternary Fe-Si-C System

New thermodynamic solution phase data have been optimized for the Fe-Si-C systemto improve the correlation between experiments and calculations obtained in an earlier assessment. New values were optimized for a binary Fe-Si interaction parameter of liquid phase and ternary Fe-Si-C interaction parameters of liquid, bcc and fcc phases applying experimental measurements on mixing enthalpies, solute activities, different phase equilibria and solute partition. In most cases, a better correlation between experiments and calculations than obtained in the earlier assessment was achieved. The calculations were carried out with two thermodynamic software packages applying the conventional substitutional solution model for the liquid phase and a two-sublattice model for the bcc and the fcc phases. The B2-ordering and the magnetic ordering of the bcc phase were described with two additional models.
