GRP Map Maker is a set of programs written in IDL (Interactive Data Language)211u001ethat produce descriptions of the Spatial distribution of fish growth rate 211u001epotential (GRP), Potential Consumption, and maximum growth potential using data 211u001eon prey distributions and environmental characteristics (water temperature and 211u001elight intensity). The core models are the so-called 'Wisconsin' bioenergetic 211u001emodels and standard foraging models developed in the late 1970s. The program is a 211u001euser-friendly, menu-driven code for use by researchers and students who want to 211u001euse spatial models of fish bioenergetics without having to dig into the details 211u001eof coding.
