Review of the Insects and Mites Found on 'Taxus' spp. with Emphasis on Western211 North America

Forty-two species of insects and mites found on Taxus are discussed, including211u001eall those known to occur in North America, of which 27 occur in western North 211u001eAmerica. Thirty-eight species are phytophagous, and 28 of these have sucking, 211u001erather than chewing, mouth parts. It is suggested that some of the chemical 211u001ecompounds present in the foliage of different species Taxus select against 211u001echewing insects and favor fluid-feeding arthropods.
