摘要

The primary purpose of the research described in this report was to determine the211u001efatigue resistance of the socket detail used in the NJDOT luminaire standards and 211u001edetermine what caused the failure of multiple luminaire supports on Route 147 in 211u001esouthern New Jersey. To accomplish this objective 12 luminaire support standards 211u001ewere sent to ATLSS to determine the fatigue resistance of the socket joint at the 211u001epole to show base connection. Pull tests were also performed to determine the 211u001edynamic characteristics, such as stiffness, natural frequency and percent of 211u001ecritical damping of each type of luminaire standard.
