Quality Care for Infants and Toddlers

In September 1998, the Child Care Bureau and the Head Start Bureau of the211u001eAdministration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human 211u001eServices, sponsored a National Leadership Forum on Quality Care for Infants and 211u001eToddlers. State child care administrators, program directors, researchers, 211u001etrainers, grantmakers, experts on child health and development, and child and 211u001efamily advocates from across the country met for a full day to exchange ideas and 211u001edevelop strategies to improve the quality of child care for infants and toddlers. 211u001eThis report synthesizes presentations and discussions that took place at the 211u001eNational Leadership Forum. It also draws on follow-up interviews with 211u001eparticipants as well as key documents in the infant/toddler child care 211u001eliterature.
