New Attempts to Solve an Old Problem: Aerodynamic Measurements in New Vehicle211 Tunnels

Aerodynamic measurements in newly built road and rail tunnels are needed in order211u001eto check both the actual performance and several input parameters used in the 211u001edesign calculation method for the ventilation system (1). Such pressure and 211u001evelocity measurements involved, make high demands upon measuring methods and 211u001etechniques, since the measuring conditions are often unfavorable and time is 211u001elimited. In this paper recent experiences with some unconventional measuring 211u001emethods are reported, which were applied especially in order to improve the 211u001edetermination of the volume flow rate and the tunnel resistance.
