摘要

Crime in the United States (CIUS), published annually by the FBI, is a211u001ecompilation of the Uniform Crime Reports (UCR) provided by over 18,000 policing 211u001ejurisdictions. It represents one of the two primary sources of data about crime 211u001ein the United States, the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) being the 211u001eother. While the NCVS is a very reliable indicator of national trends in crime, 211u001eit is based on a survey of under 50,000 households and thus cannot provide local 211u001einformation on crime, which is provided by the UCR and CIUS.
