Section 25402.1 of the Public Resources Code requires that the California Energy211u001eCommission (Commission) make available compliance materials, including an energy 211u001econservation manual. The Nonresidential Manual for Compliance with the 1998 211u001eEnergy Efficiency Standards (P400-98-005) (Manual) is provided to meet the 211u001erequirement of this section. This Manual becomes effective July 1, 1999 and 211u001esupersedes the Nonresidential Manual for Compliance with the 1995 Energy 211u001eEfficiency Standards (P400-95-005), and all other previous manuals, notices, and 211u001einterpretations explaining compliance with the Energy Efficiency Standards 211u001e(Standards) for Nonresidential Buildings, High-Rise Residential Buildings and 211u001eHotels/Motels. The Manual includes compliance method descriptions, calculation 211u001eprocedures, technical data, examples, and sample compliance forms for meeting the 211u001eStandards for Nonresidential Buildings, High-Rise Residential Buildings, and 211u001eHotels/Motels. The chapters in this Manual refer to, paraphrase, or extract the 211u001eStandards as promulgated by the Commission and as compiled in California's 211u001eUniform Building Code. This Manual is not a substitute for the Standards, and it 211u001eshould be used in conjunction with a current copy of the Standards, or a current 211u001ecopy of California's Uniform Building Code.
