摘要

The NIST/ACI/ASTM workshop on 'Modelling Service Life and Life-Cycle Cost of211u001eSteel-Reinforced Concrete' was focused on possibilities for developing and 211u001estandardizing such models, specifically for chloride-exposed concrete. The report 211u001eincludes summaries of nine presentations by mode developers and reports from 211u001eworking groups that addressed: (1) chloride transport mechanisms and test 211u001emethods; (2) chloride thresholds for corrosion initiation; (3) corrosion rate and 211u001etime to rehabilitate or replace, and (4) life-cycle cost and service life 211u001eprediction models. Several models for chloride transport to the steel were well 211u001eadvanced, but modelling of chloride thresholds and corrosion rates poses 211u001edifficulties that still need to be overcome. Economic models for life-cycle 211u001ecosting are in place and ready to use with service life models as they are 211u001edeveloped. it was agreed that standard models for service life prediction and 211u001elife-cycle costing are necessary.
