The authors present the first measurements of flame inhibition by ferrocene,211u001ecompare it with Fe(CO)5 and CF3Br, and present data showing how combining it with 211u001eother compounds can overcome the loss in effectiveness experienced by both it and 211u001eFe(CO)2. The authors also report the burning velocity of premixed flames in the 211u001epresence of combinations of a thermal agent CO2 (which does not lose its 211u001eeffectiveness at higher mole fraction) and catalytic agents (which are superbly 211u001eeffective at low inhibitor mole fraction).
