Quantity and Quality of Urban Stormwater Runoff from Selected Drainage Basins,211 Omaha, Nebraska, 1992-93

This report describes the results of the USGS stormwater data collection and211u001eanalysis work in Omaha, Nebraska, to meet technical data needs for item 4 of the 211u001eNPDES permitting requirements. Site selection and the sampling strategy for 211u001edocumenting the stormwater discharges from five urban basins in Omaha are 211u001eincluded in the report. Storm characteristics and water-quality data collected at 211u001ethe five sites from May to November 1992 and from April through August 1993 also 211u001eare provided. A statistical summary of the concentrations of an extensive list of 211u001ewater-quality constituents detected in the storm water discharged from the five 211u001ebasins shows the type and relative significance of contaminants that might be 211u001eexpected from urban storm sewers in the Omaha metropolitan area. Finally, the 211u001emass transport of loads for selected constituents in the five basins is presented 211u001ebased on three methods: the direct method, the USEPA simple method, and a 211u001estatistical method.
