This document presents the selected remedial action for the cleanup of wastes211u001erelated to Manhattan Engineering District/Atomic Energy Commission (MED/AEC) 211u001eoperations in accessible soils and ground water at the St. Louis Downtown Site 211u001e(SLDS). The main components of the selected remedial action include: Excavation 211u001eand off-site disposal of approximately 65,000 cubic meters (85,000 cubic yards) 211u001e(in-situ) contaminated soil; and No remedial action is required for ground water 211u001ebeneath the site. Perimeter monitoring of the ground water in the Mississippi 211u001eRiver alluvial aquifer, designated as the hydrostratigraphic B Unit, will be 211u001eperformed and the need for ground water remediation will be evaluated as part of 211u001ethe periodic reviews performed for the site.
