摘要

This is one of seven studies exploring processes for developing ITS architectures211u001efor regional, statewide, or commercial vehicle applications. Four case studies 211u001eexamine metropolitan corridor sites: the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut 211u001eregion; the Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee Corridor; Southern California; and Houston. 211u001eThe fifth case study details Arizona's process for developing a rural/statewide 211u001eITS architecture. A cross-cutting study highlights the findings and perspectives 211u001eof the five case studies. The seventh study is a cross-cutting examination of 211u001eelectronic credentialing for commercial vehicle operations in Kentucky, Maryland, 211u001eand Virginia. Six of the studies were conducted by U.S. DOT's Volpe National 211u001eTransportation Systems Center under the sponsorship of U.S. DOT's ITS Joint 211u001eProgram Office, with guidance from the Federal Highway Administration and Federal 211u001eTransit Administration.
