Analysis of AMHS Fast Vehicle Ferry Wake Wash Predictions Phase 1 Report. Comparison of the AMHS FVF Expected Wash Characteristics Against Measured Vessels and Past Studies

This study reviewed the predicted wake wash of the Fast Vehicle Ferry and compared it to wake wash of other vessels. Model tests were conducted in a tow tank to predict the ship's wake wash. Predictions were difficult to obtain and tended to be high. Wake wash as reported by Washington State Ferries was compared to the FVF and corroborated that predictions for wake wash on the FVF were probably high. Conclusions and recommendations are presented.
