A comparison of the artificial aging characteristics of Alclad 24S-RT and Alclad 24S-T was made at the aging temperatures of 350℉., 375°F., 400°F. , and 450°F. The best mechanical properties of the Alclad 24S-RT were obtained at an aging temperature of 350°F. and 8 hours aging time;tensile strength of 69,000 psi, yield strength 64, 500 psi, and elongation 5.5 percent. Higher temperatures decrease the maximums. The maximum properties are under the best of the pre-stretched material but are equal to the 3-4 percent pre-stretched material aged at 365°F.
