A thrust of 298 pounds at a specific fuel value of 1.99 pounds of fuel per pound of thrust per hour was obtained with a 12-inch-diameter pulse jet 132 inches in length with step bell attached to tailpipe. Results of eleven tests of similar configurations all show values of specific fuel closely approaching 2.0. These were static tests at a mean temperature of 27°F, conducted at an elevation 100 feet above sea level.
