The work under this contract was reviewed briefly. The state of charge of a sintered plate battery can be determined by a charge-discharge test and by various modifications of the test. Apparatus and procedure for conducting tests have been described in the reports submitted under this contract. Sorting of batteries into groups having residual capacities of more or less than six minutes may be done by means of impedance measurements at 30 and 1000 cycles per second.
