摘要

Fourteen compounds were tested for their prophylactic effective-ness in rats poisoned by continuous inhalation of GB vapor at a concentration level of 150 mg. /m. 3 2, 3-butanedione 2-oxime (DAM) was found to be the most effective, although 2, 3-pentanedione 3-oxime and 2, 3-pentanedione 2-oxime gave encouraging results. The times of death (Lt50) for 50% of animals receiving DAM 15 min. prior to the initiation of a continuous GB vapor exposure were 118 min. for the females and 127 min. for the males. These values may be compared with 3. 5 min. for untreated females and 6. 1 min. for untreated males. The approximate time to incapacitation (It 50) for 50% of the treated females was 74 min. as compared with 2. 7 min. for the untreated ones.nAtropine, 2, 3-butanedione 2-oxime (DAM), pyruvaldehyde aldoxime (MINA), and 2, 3-pentanedione 3-oxime were evaluated for their therapeutic effectiveness by intraperitoneal injections immediately after a 30-sec. GB exposure. At GB vapor concentrations of 346 and 517 mg. /m. 3 these com?pounds were not appreciably effective in reducing the mortality. Most of the animals were at the point of death before the compound could be administered.
