An attempt is made to show the value of the mathematico-deductive approach to various psychological problems, and in particular to indicate the very general applicability of two techniques:n1. The usefulness of matrix algebra for expressing a large number of psychological theories and for comparing the theory (observation equations) with data. 2. The generality of multidimensional scaling as an approach to a variety of psychological problems.
