These transactions are part of an ongoing series of conferences reporting research on the chemotherapy of tuberculosis sponsored by the Veterans Administration and the armed forces. An in-depth study of pulmonary tuberculosis and its therapies contains reports on cycloserine-pyroxidine combinations in the control of cycloserine toxicity during treatment of chronic, resistant pulmonary tuberculosis, treatment of cavitary pulmonary tuberculosis with PSA-INH (pyrazinamide-isoniazid) compared with PAS-INH (paraminosalicylic acid-isoniazid) and with CS-INH (cycloserine-isoniazid), the detection of hepatic toxicity due to pyrazinamide by means of the determination of serum enzymes, and ultraviolet radiation of upper room air and its effect upon the incidence of acute respiratory illness among long-term hospital patients.
