摘要

The endogenous bacterial flora of the cat meatus was found to be similar to that of the normal human ear canal. Exposure of the cat to elevated or lowered temperatures and humilities did not alter the flora not produce any morphologic changes in the skin of the ear canal. Morphologic change were produced in the skin of susceptible cat ears by the instillation of Pseudomonas aeruginose under the controlled environmental conditions, and the contaminant was shown to persist in the ear for long periods, apparently independent of the concentration of bacteria instilled.
