Development of a Mathematical Theory of Plasticity Based on the Concept of Slip

The model developed by H. Payne (1,2) has been used to solve the problem of a thin wall cylinder which is subjected to a torsional strain following a plaster tensile strain and the results of this work are described in detail.nThe study of the Bauschinger effect has been start¬ed and the work contained in this report deals with the first phase of this study. The method for calculating the plastic behavior for a reversal of a uniaxial strain has been developed and is discussed.
