摘要

Classical small deflection theory is used to derive buckling coefficients for cylinders of sandwich construction under axial compression. The core is assumed to be orthotropic, but the results do not differ much from isotropic core unless the core shear modulus is much smaller circumferentially than axially. The buckling coefficients for isotropic core and orthotropic core stiffened circumferentially are the same.
