Statistical data on organizational and operational aspects of farmer cooperatives furnish an indication of their status in the agricultural sector of the economy. Data covered include numbers and memberships of cooperatives and their annual business volume, categorized geographically and on a commodity-handled basis. Continuity of data is provided to measure cooperative development and to allow comparison with a rapidly changing agricultural economy and analysis of changes of widening scope in cooperative activity.
