Rehabilitating Military Dependents. A Project to Demonstrate the Value of Establishing a Program of Rehabilitation Services in a Military Base Community.

A project (1969-1972) to determine the effectiveness of a comprehensive rehabilitation program for disabled and disadvantaged military and nonmilitary dependents in a military base community rehabilitated a number of clients and identified variables which describe and differentiate the two groups. The program involved utilizing a referral and screening system, evaluation and rehabilitation services, collection of data for use by other rehabilitation personnel, and a research program to determine the needs of military dependents and methods to help them.
