Fire Endurance Test of a Steel Sandwich Panel Floor Construction.

摘要

As a part of the evaluation of a housing system proposed under Operation Breakthrough, a fire endurance test was performed at the National Bureau of Standards on a floor,made up of sandwich panels consisting of a paper honeycomb core with steel and plywood surfaces,supported on steel joists. The applied live load was 40 psf and the test results are valid only for floors of similar construction loaded at or below the stress level developed by this loading. Failure time occurring by flame through of the floor assembly was noted.
