Evaluation of the Planning Process for EPA Wastewater Treatment Facilities Grants. Interpretive Summary. The Sacramento Regional Wastewater Management Program: A Case Study

The National Science Foundation has prepared this Interpretive Summary to identify issues of possible national importance from the Sacramento studies. This Interpretive Summary contains a background section summarizing basic information about water resources and water quality in the Sacramento area and the developments of the Sacramento Regional Wastewater Management Program. This is followed by a discussion of the principle policy and technical issues of national interest that emerged from the Sacramento case study. These were identified during the review of the contractors' case studies and various meetings with local and state representatives.
