A Manual on Prediction of Pile Downdrag on End Bearing Piles.

摘要

The settlement of soil surrounding pile foundations causes negative skin friction to develop between soil and pile. The resulting downdrag forces represent a major cause of pile failures when not considered in the design. This manual presents a simple method for predicting the magnitude of the maximum downdrag forces on vertical end-bearing piles,together with examples illustrating the use of the method in practice.
