摘要

Sensory and pulmonary irritation effects of thermal degradation products from natural and synthetic materials were studied using mice. Mice were used to develop a sensory irritation stress index based on changes in respiratory rate. In addition,acute lethality was obtained. Dose-response curves were generated for decomposition products from Douglas Fir,PVC,flexible polyurethane,teflon,and fiberglas reinforced polyester. Similar data were obtained for CO, CO2,low O2,acrolein,HCl and Cl2. Preliminary studies on the pulmonary effects of combustion products using rabbits are also reported.
