摘要

The effects on the mechanical properties and microstructure of cooling rate and deformation after the hold during controlled rolling at finish rolling temperatures of 1000C, 800C and 650C have been determined on 0.09%C/0.23% Si/1.26% Mn/0.022% Nb steel. Accelerating the Cooling rate up to 4C/sec after rolling was not detrimental and could be beneficial to tensile properties. Furthermore significant improvements (up to 35C) in ITT,were observed in material finish rolled at 1000C deformed 50% and 67% after the hold and cooled in the range 3-7C/Sec. To achieve a reasonable level of impact and tensile properties in material finish rolled at 650C it is important to maximise the deformation after the hold. The relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties is discussed and shown to be complex.
