Research Initiation -Mixed and Hybrid Finite Element Analysis of Problems in Structural Mechanics.

摘要

Mixed and hybrid variational formulations of problems in heat conduction,fluid flow,and thin plate bending,free vibration and buckling are presented and corresponding mixed models are developed. Mathematical properties,such as existence and uniqueness of solutions and error estimates are given. A number of problems from heat conduction,fluid flow and plate theory are solved using the mixed models developed herein. The mixed models,despite their simplicity in formulation and computer programming,yield better accuracies for the displacements,moments,buckling loads and natural frequencies in the thin plate analysis.
